A few years ago, I stopped buying generic, pricey greeting cards and started making my own cards.  It’s easy and fun to customize a card and more meaningful to the recipient.  Just add photos, your own heartfelt message and with the click of a button, your card is created and shipped without having to leave the house—and all for less than $5!

The best gift I’ve given cost $3
Why we love it
Because it’s easy to show you care by creating this custom keepsake they’ll likely keep and treasure always  (it’s like a mini-scrapbook!).  My mother-in-law still has all the personalized cards we’ve sent her over the years out on display.
Perfect for
Personalized cards are perfect for any occasion: from birthdays and holidays like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to small, everyday moments like saying thanks or reaching out  to brighten someone’s day ‘just because’ – our favorite kind of gift!
Helpful tips
    • Try to include photos – throwback photos go over well!
    • Got writer’s block?  Include a meaningful quote or lyrics from a favorite song.
    • Not ideal for last-minute gifting.  Since it typically takes 2-8 days to deliver, be sure to plan ahead.
A Few of Our Favorites

We’ve rounded up some of the best resources for personalized cards to make it even easier for you to get started!

BEST OVERALL:  Cardstore.com by American Greetings – has a great selection of cards for a wide variety of occasions. The designs are modern, simple and not too cheesy, and we found the writing to be more thoughtful and heartfelt compared to others.  They also offer a print-to-store option at your local Target store, perfect for you last minute gift givers!  Note: This is a pricier option, with cards starting at $3.59 (postage included).

BEST MOBILE APP:   Ink Cards by Sincerely (iOS/Android) –  customizing cards is super easy from your mobile device with your photos and contacts all in one place.  This app is easy to navigate, and offers cards starting at $2 each (postage included).  We love their fresh, modern designs and format options. You can send as a card, postcard or order in bulk.

BEST DIY OPTION: – Unleash your creativity with Canva, a FREE online design tool, to customize your own greeting card. Choose from dozens of free and premium (cost $1) templates created by their design community.  Unlike other custom card services, Canva gives you the option to customize everything – colors, text and repurpose existing card templates.  Best of all, you can download your card and email it for free, print out at home or at your local printer.
